Case Study - Huskk Cafe
The Challenge
Huskk’s fresh new boutique-style café in Grange, Brisbane needed a prominent and bold reception sign with an industrial aesthetic which was easy to clean.
The Solution
The well-known industrial aesthetic is signified by the use of raw steel and timber used in harmony. To achieve this look we used 3mm mild steel laser cut to shape where wooden posts were epoxy glued to the rear of the metal lettering.
Pine boards were router cut to shape with pockets and allocations for on-site assembly. All surfaces were walnut stained to replicate the look of timber which is typically harder to source, thus is much more expensive.
The metal lettering was rough sanded and purposefully damaged to accentuate the industrial appearance. We also applied a matte clear coat to the surface of the steel to allow for ease of cleaning by the client.
